To have my mosaic 'Cheeseburger' accepted for this exhibition was most gratifying and I am very excited about attending this event, my first SAMA conference to date.
 
The Society of American Mosaic Artists (SAMA) 8th Annual International juried exhibition takes place at the Museum of Man in San Diego, California between February 28 and April 26.  The exhibition unites compelling materials, innovative design, and masterful technique as explored by international artists currently working in the medium.  Included are seventy two exceptional mosaics selected from submissions by over 200 artists in seven countries chosen by esteemed panel of judges including Helen Bodycomb, Director of Helen Bodycomb Mosaics in Australia, Malena Perdomo, Artistic Director of the Perdomo Mosaic Studio in México; and Irene de Watteville, tile artist and Board Member of the
Tile Heritage Foundation.
 
"This exhibition showcases the incredible diversity of artists working in traditional and contemporary materials," says Karen Ami, SAMA President.  "Our members continue to push the envelope with texture, color, and form, conveying the mastery present in our international community of mosaic artists.  This exhibition will inspire museum visitors as they discover the tactile innovation of contemporary mosaic art,"  Ami adds.

Also the month of August brought another amazing surprise.  I had 2 of my fine art mosaics accepted by a juried show in Pam Goode’s Ciel Gallery in Charlotte, North Carolina.

 

Pam wrote.  “I'm thrilled to report that our juror Giulio selected both Frogs and Steps to be exhibited at Ciel! Exhibiting these works will be an honor and a pleasure”. View Exhibit

 

Again, I wish to congratulate Pam Goode, Mosaic Artist/Owner on her grand opening at Ciel Gallery on Sept 5th till the 26th. 

Also congratulations to my fellow artists who are also featured in the gallery.
